Letters of Recommendation
1.
To Whom it may concern:

It is my sincerest privilege to write to you to inform you that Ms. Christen Thieman has my fullest and most heartfelt endorsement for your Physical Therapist position. Little did I know that back in Aug 2012 when we were interviewing candidates to join as staff physical therapist, that not only I had endorsed an individual that would have such a profound impact on our department, but a human being that had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and the ability to inspire, lead and bestow knowledge onto her peers and patients alike. I had the pleasure of working side by side with Christen as well as having her as one of my direct reports. Christen was the most trustworthy, dependable and knowledgeable employee I have ever seen. She has the unique ability to connect with patients in a way that makes them not feel intimidated but inspired to know more. She has the gift of curiosity coupled with compassion that knows no bounds. She is an extremely talented clinician and is able to marry evidenced based practice with her own experience and intuition with ease. She is a true professional, a lifelong learner and a devout and practicing Christian who exemplifies Christian values. I can attest that her resume is accurate, but she is so much more. I can attest that my, my family’s and the lives of all that she touches are enriched because of the person that she is.

Sincerely,
-M., MPT, CSCS
Clinical Training Supervisor/Physical Therapist
2.
To Whom It May Concern,
It is my pleasure to enthusiastically recommend Christen Thieman for the physical therapy position.
I have had the joy of being able to collaborate with Christen for 8 years at Briggs & Stratton. Christen is ambitious, analytical and team oriented. Her attention to detail towards both her patients and colleagues is unmatched. She goes above and beyond to provide the best care and education to anyone she engages with. Christen’s optimistic attitude is really what sets her apart. She is a solution-seeker and approaches difficult situations calmly and with integrity. I respect Christen greatly.

Although Christen and I are no longer colleagues, I now consider Christen one of my biggest mentors. She has helped me elevate my career in the fitness industry through her professional guidance, motivation, and continuous support.
I am confident without reservation that Christen would be an excellent physical therapist at your practice.

Sincerely,
-K., NSCA-CPT

To Whom It May Concern,

I had the sincere pleasure of working with Christen Thieman at QuadMed from 2013-2019. During that time, I witnessed Christen’s unwavering positivity and unsatiable appetite for clinical excellence. As a board-certified orthopedic specialist and vestibular certified therapist, our department frequently referred complex patients to Christen, knowing that these individuals would be in the care of an exceptionally skilled and compassionate professional.

Christen’s passion for learning and applying best evidence was not limited to the scope of her personal practice. She founded the Education/Evidence Based Practice committee, which grew exponentially under her leadership. In this role, Christen coordinated more than a dozen colleagues to collect and synthesize current evidence and present it to the PT department in a clear, concise fashion that effectively bridged the gap between research and clinical application. With her inclusive and nonjudgmental interactions, Christen created an environment that fostered open sharing and dialogue. This safe and supportive environment fostered the generation of creative ideas for inter- and intradepartmental presentations.

As a highly organized and clearly communicating leader, Christen broke down projects into component parts, with all committee members understanding expectations and deadlines. She structured presentations in a way that made best evidence easy to understand and apply clinically. For example, in a series of presentations related to best practice for neck, back, hip, knee, etc. pain, Christen created color coded tables that easily guided her audience to the highest quality tests and measures that should be considered for incorporation into clinical practice. As an engaging and approachable presenter, Christen fostered participation, questions, and dialogue amongst her audience, which included PTs across the country!

In her characteristically thoughtful and strategic way, Christen also scaffolded information across presentations to deepen not only recall, but understanding and application of information. For example, she led her committee in a series of presentations on special testing, including procedures, interpretation, and statistical power, and then later followed that with a series of presentations related to assessment and treatment of common diagnoses. She revisited and expounded upon previously taught concepts. As a result of her strong leadership and dedication to both learning and teaching, the quality of practice of our department was elevated, and subsequently our patients reaped benefits of more effective care.

On a more personal note, I am fortunate that while I no longer work with Christen, I still get to call her friend and fellow Christian. While I’ve not heard her evangelize in so many words, her faith is loudly proclaimed in her actions, including but not limited to her service and leadership.

Extensive clinical experience, advanced and specialty education, leadership experience, passion for learning and teaching, and a strong Christian faith are just some of the qualities that Christen will bring to this role. She will be a tremendous asset to your program.

Most sincerely,
-M., PT, DPT, OCS
Faculty

Recommendation for Christen Thieman

I would like to wholeheartedly recommend Christen as a very qualified and skilled therapist for patient care activities.
I have known Christen through common employment at QuadMed and have grown to so appreciate her heart and compassion for people and for the profession of Physical Therapy. She is a gentle spirit and shows this to her patients and colleagues.

Her work has not only been excellent in regard to her daily patient care, but she has also been a leader on several committees to push the excellence of keeping her colleagues up to date on research and the latest in treatment science.
Personally, she and her husband have supported me and my wife in efforts to affect the less fortunate in overseas medical work. I am sure that her husband would be a great support for her in any new adventure in her career.

If you want an intelligent, compassionate, relational clinician, who really cares about her patients and other therapists I would recommend you consider her for your clinic.

Sincerely,
-R., PT, Cert MDT, TPI

To Whom It May Concern,

It was my privilege and pleasure to work with Christen Thieman for six years at QuadMed, and I strongly believe she is a highly skilled, empathetic, and patient-focused clinician.

Christen is an extremely curious physical therapist. While at QuadMed she spearheaded the Education Committee, where she authored and presented journal articles and clinical practice guidelines. She is in a constant state of growth, and is always hungry to learn new skills.

However, what’s more important is that Christen is an empathetic person. She cares deeply about the welfare of her patients, and develops real connections with them. After a few visits, she not only understands her patients occupation and hobbies, but also likely what their family looks like, what they do on the weekends, and where they want to be in 5 years. Christen pours herself into her patients, and this is a rare character trait.

Sincerely,
-C., DPT, CMTPT, ATC
